Not to be a buzzkill because it’s an amazing project, a great addition to the community/skate/bmx scene and tribute to the Ox , pretty small skatepark considering, and the mud you see in the picture could have been concreted over and used as additional skatepark space , but no councils and planners have a hard on for mud / grass that ends up being destroyed in litter
We need more publicly funded indoor skateparks in this country, we are nowhere near on the level as the UK, US, many European countries when it comes to this stuff and it’s a shame since it’s an Olympic sport now (freestyle)
As a fan of watching people fall over, i think this is a great addition
Used to love going to the local skate park when I was younger. God, I was awful at both roller blading and skate boarding but Jesus it was good laugh. I hope it gets it’s use in Tralee!
We need more of these. Was in Spain and Portugal recently, and both towns I visited had great ones, one even had a small cafe and skate shop beside it, did decent business. The kids loved it.
