The real tragedy is that so often crimes go not only unpunished, but not even investigated.
So, the real question is, who is doing the investigations ?
At this point, there doesn’t seem to be much investigating occurring.
At bare minimum, this should be done by courts established for carrying out international law. Real international law, law that leads to justice, equity, and the protection of civil society and civil and human rights, and democracy.
And it just is not clear that international laws are written and framed correctly for punishment and stoppage of genocide.
