Ok so this article is woefully uninformative. Just a friendly reminder that you cant just up sticks and work from anywhere without your companies permission. They need to properly pay taxes wherever you are living. You cannot make a decision to move to Lisbon on your own. This might be easy if your employer is set up to pay tax in the location you want to work in but don’t expect them to pay the Irish salary in deepest Romania. And yes, if your employer finds out you’ve done this you will be in trouble. Have a company laptop? They know where you are. Have a company phone? They know where you are. Log in to an online platform like Google or Microsoft? They know where you are. Basically inter railing while not on annual leave? Yeah, good luck.
