I’ve come across so many interesting flags when studying bees in Vexillology, and especially from Portugal!
However in 2012/2013 it seems there was a change on municipalities and many of these flags are now former flags.
Does anyone know what about this?

In 2012 some if the smallest administrative territorial units (freguesias) were merged with one of its neighbours and that originated a change in name and symbols like the flags.

btw, as abelhas são representativas da tradição de no passado, habitualmente cada casa tinha em sua posse algumas colmeias.
Há quem diga também que uma das razões para a mudança de localização da aldeia para a localização atual, se deveu ao ataque que as formigas faziam à produção de mel dos habitantes.
