Greece Bans Halal And Kosher Slaughter As Inhumane

  1. The so called “democracies”, when the topic is religious freedom.

Be honest, no one cares about animals and slaughter. This is agains the muslims and the jews.

  2. Prepare for the religious communities to be vary outspoken about this “attack” on their religious freedom and threatening to leave the country.

Take it from a nation that has banned this practice that the “threat” is just a temporary dance of outrage. They will not leave, but in a few years they settle down and find something else to be angry about like for instance unnessesary medical procedures on infants.

  3. I tthink it’s banned in Poland too. Are there a lot of Muslims and Jews in Greece? What’s the outrage?

  4. The veterinary university of applied sciences Hannover has conducted tests that show no pain reactions in the brain scans of animals slaughtered this way. These pain reactions were present on animals slaughtered with bolt-shooters.

The swiss department of veterinary affairs has found otherwise in their investigation citing that animals that were slaughtered according to the correct methodology ( ie throat cut correctly) were showing strong pain reactions and the corneal reflex (proof of consciousness) was present up to 30 seconds after the cut.
The european court of law has found that the ritual slaughtering is less animal friendly even after correct execution.

I hope this provides some context so people can discuss more informed.

  5. Eh … this just seems like a shady way to stick a thumb in the eye of religious minorities. Interesting that it comes on the heels of closing Muslim minority schools in Thrace. Balkans being the Balkans I guess.
