This is exactly what all the Tory candidates except Sunak said re: climate change in the recent ITV debate. Basically, we have to jettison climate action because its too expensive.
Considering that at the height of the global lockdowns for covid humans were still producing more co2 than the planet can handle there is no way we are going to reduce emissions enough to make a difference before its too late.
