More than 3000 years of history in Piazza della Rotonda, Rome

  1. the fountain in the picture is adorned with one of the obelisks of Pharaoh Ramses II and made around 1200 BC. The square is fronted by the Pantheon, which was built originally in the first century BC and later rebuilt by emperor Hadrian in the second century AD.

  2. Being Dutch it blows my mind that you have such old objects all around you. Most of my country was developed from the 11th century onwards. 82% of buildings in this country are less than 80 years old.
