  1. I see what you’re trying to do hehe…but, perhaps you’re fairly newish here. This kind of behaviour isn’t something Maltese people hold in high esteem. We don’t really have the fight-to-defend-your-honour culture at all (for all our faults, we are very let-it-go types).

So, just because some teenagers in Qormi had a fight over a girl, and the girl got hurt in the process, doesn’t mean we’re okay with it, just because they’re Maltese.

  2. One thing I don’t get, what u mean by violent crime from non African?
Is it like African ppl get the crimes done there ?

  3. “Oh dang. These things need to stop!”. I get what you’re doing. We know the Maltese are no saints. Of course not. The home-grown local criminals will always remain a common occurrence and their crimes can never be justified. But what you’re failing to see is that a crime against the Maltese population by foreigners, immigrants, and expats are much worse.
Which is worse? Me coming to your house and smashing a vase or your family member doing the same? These crimes are worse than a simple vase being broken but our point still stands that crime by foreigners vs the Maltese are on the rise. Don’t be such an apologist.

  4. Have to say that Malta and the government specifically has spend tax money to promote malta to criminals. And they have done a splendid job. These days if you meet someone interested in malta you can be sure he is up to no good. So yes the wrong people think this is the place for them .. you have no idea the kind of marketing that goes on … and you pay for it both upfront and the consequences.

  5. I always love to see the common racism here or others country and how people from all country use the same argument to justify they are not racists.

Usually newspaper follow the main mindset to have more reader so all the information are kind of biased.
    Same happened everywhere.

Maltese are not saint but they probably deal it differently and news don’t want to talk about it cuz it doesn’t interest Maltese people.

Other countries often don’t write origins of people and yes true I forgot Maltese who live abroad for a long time doesn’t count as Maltese. 🤦🤦🤦

Can we talk about all the incivility made by young Maltese? No.

Can we talk about bullied and harassment at school or work? Nope.

Can we talk about the fact that Maltese deal issues between then and don’t call the police.

Do you know the rate of family violence? A lot, but shh shhhh don’t talk about it.

  6. having 400k Maltese and 100k foreigners one needs a 4:1 ratio to make it equal but i think the ration is 1:4 or more

  7. I’m Maltese (albeit not natively so) and I don’t commit crimes. My Uber drivers this week alone were from Libya, Somalia, Ghana and Ħamrun, none of which I believe committed any crimes (unsure about the Ħamrun guy though, /s). My neighbour is as Maltese as a truckful of Pastizzi and was sent to the slammer for beating up his wife. People are people. The multimillionaire owner of the Hilton hotel allegedly commissioned more murders than the average poor soul that happened to land here on their way to ‘real Europe’ (Germany, France etc.).
