Is anywhere built to accommodate their record temperatures? Seems like an unnecessary expense if it only covers a few days.
We have 2 days of above average heat and people on here are acting like millions have died. But at least it would mostly the elderly which was the most vulnerable, which edgy redditors don’t care about. God forbid you actually say you have enjoyed the weather and be called a Tory climate change denier.
As people in Wennington wake up to homes burned to the ground and an uncertain future due to a poorly advised BBQ, just a reminder that Dominic Raab our erstwhile deputy PM, told us all to stop worrying about it and “enjoy it”
Abject failure of leadership from the government yet again.
The problem is that our infrastructure also has to withstand winter temperatures as low as -10. A 50° range is a lot for many materials. Most countries which experience regular 40° days don’t get freezing winters.
Worried about infrastructure? I’m worried about agriculture and our remaining wildlife.
We’re here to cause warming, not deal with it lmao.
if only we had 30 years of warning
For instance Madrid (Spain) has been always North Pole in winter and hell in summer: `In December, the weather in Madrid is usually quite mild. The average temperature is of 7.0 °C (45 °F), with a minimum of 2.6 °C (36.7 °F) and a maximum of 11.4 °C (52.4 °F). On the coldest nights of the month, the temperature usually drops to around -3 °C (27 °F).Also, July and August are Madrid’s hottest months. Daytime temperatures will stay at 31°C (88°F) or above, but there are many unbearably hot days at 35°C to 40°C.`
When you care more about pointless tradition than the welfare of your people; classic British policy making.
Post brexit we probably need to up food production and storage and actually become self sufficient that was the entire point of the excersize ffs
