I know you probably get way too many of these but its bothered me since childhood and this seemed to be the best place to ask to get an answer.
But in the episode where they go to the sweet store, there is this one shot of a kid eating something brown with white flakes on it, which seems to be filled with some form of whipped cream? ( link to screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/dhQCldN ) and Ive always wanted to try it, bc honestly it looks delicious as heck, but I have no clue what it might be.
If anyone might be able to tell me thatd be amazing.

edit: thank you all for your kind answers! Finally the 20 year long mystery has been solved

  1. Skumboll

It seems that is the brand neutral term. The problem with the term kokosboll that’s sometimes used is that those can have a solid interior.

  2. Kokosbollar. It’s a kind of whipped cream in chocolate, covered in coconut stuff.. idk what it’s called in english sry

  3. They are filled with whipped egg white mixed with sugar. Dipped in chocolate and sprinkeled with cocos flakes. They are very common in sweden. They also come in versions without the cocos on. They are often called mums mums, which kinda translates to yummy yummy.

  4. It’s whipped egg white sugar and stabilizer, with a thin layer of chocolate and coconut flakes

    Ingredienser

    2 dl vatten

    5 g agar agar

    Sockerlag

    2 dl vatten

    5 dl strösocker

    100 g glykos

    Maräng

    6 äggvitor

    0.5 dl strösocker

    citron, några droppar

    Dekoration

    400 g mörk choklad

    200 g kokos, riven

    Gör så här

Värm 2 dl vatten till 35–40 °C i en kastrull och vispa ner agar agar. Låt svälla under lock i minst 30 minuter.

Vispa i ytterligare 5 minuter.

Spritsa eller lägg ut skummassan till bullar. Låt dem stelna några timmar i rumstemperatur.

Smält chokladen under omrörning i vattenbad eller mikrovågsugn. Doppa bullarna med hjälp av en gaffel, rulla dem i kokos och lägg upp på papper att stelna.

  5. In gothenburg they are called ‘munk’

In other parts of the country they have wierd names.
In som places even literally wierd as usually it skum-something. Skum in this context refears to the foamy center, but also means wierd.

  6. Kokosboll, skumboll, kokostopp. Many names. In the stores there is something called Skumraket you can buy which is very similar

  7. Known as Skumtoppar

Still being sold to this day.

Direct translation being: Grindr TOPPED Weirdo (trust me, am swed)

  8. It’s basically a thin wafer with marshmallow dipped in chocolate and sprinkled with coconut flakes.

I’m sure we can all pull it together and send this poor guy some no?

  9. Without knowing it OP started a internal conflict in sweden over the name of the bland but sugary foamy bakverk. The “conflict” raged on for 8 months and over 4000 persons is claimed to have lost their life.

  10. Addition to this thread about cocosbollar/gräddbullar – despite what they’re called, the filling isn’t marshmallow or cream, the most correct equivalent is meringue. An egg-white and sugar emulsion

  11. It can be called a “skumtopp” (foam top)
It has a filling I consider close to marshmallow fluff on a wafer, dipped in chocolate and a sprinkling of coconut flakes on top 🙂

  12. There’s another type known as Augusta Jansson or skumraket. Same ingredients, different shape.
