I bury my embers
Late in the evening
When the day is done
May God ensure my embers
Never dies out
We had the same inscription on our wood stove growing up.
Something like:
I bury my fire late in the evening.
When the day is over God make sure my fire never runs out.
As a sidenote, when I were on a scout camp, we used to have barbeque on some steel barrels that were cut in two. The day after, around 14 hours after the bbq, I dug in the ash and found tiny bits of coal/charcoal. I slowly put them together while talking with some friends, and the pile got hotter and hotter untill i catched fire
I bury my embers
Late in the evening
When the day is over
May god ensure my fire
Never dies out
This is hot
No touchies
Please no touchies
Is hot
Be warned

Yo wtf this looks exactly like mine 😳😳😳
Nobody knows what the stove says.
Its a message from ‘småfolket’ if you dont use the stove enough they’ll steal from you. Mostly socks.
This is from a really old Norwegian poem called “jernmalmen i grubene på eineaasen” never heard the poem before and I’m Norwegian, but It’s from the early 1600’s, It’s not just a poem, It’s a part pf history. Directly translated it says “I dug down my fire, late at night. When the day is over, God give my fire, never burn out” where are you from, OP? Norway became independent from Denmark in 1814 so this is before then, really nice part of history you got there
English
I DIGGED MY FIRE LATE IN THE EVENING WHEN THE DAY IS END GOD GRANT MY FIRE AGE EXTINGUISHED
