Martin says he is not ruling out a coalition with Sinn Féin

  1. Wasn’t it FF last election saying they wouldn’t go into government with FG? We’ve gone from that to having to tolerate the idea of SF

  2. > We shouldn’t poison a new generation, again, in the notion that violence can be worth it or violence is justified. That’s all I’m saying.

A passing glance at the frequency with which those hunger striker memorials get posted on here tell me he’s right

  3. Doesn’t really matter who’s in the coalition. FF, FG, G, SF…all shit, just different shades. Nothing fundamental would change under any of them.

  4. FF + FG were telling SF to come to the political table and get the IRA to decommission their weapons etc, then when all that happens, all that FF + FG can do is talk about how SF were the political wing of the IRA at the time and how wee shouldn’t trust them.

  6. The correct title should be: “Martin says he is not ruling out a coalition with SF until he has milked every last deluded transfer in the GE and then after the GE he will rule it out.” Not snappy enough I know. Maybe “Martin on transfer market”? We see you Mícheál.

  7. I genuinely pity your jurisdiction. Northern Ireland are stuck with that enterprise in tandem with the other as a condition of peace.

To see the republic draw a dagger upon itself and edge closer to the self injury that enterprise Will inflict given power and further access to your establishment..

Be very careful. These people used to kill and disappear those who disagreed with them or didn’t subscribe to their externe overbearing and suffocating proscribed brand of politics or identity.

They are completely amoral, cynical, manipulative heckling guttersnipes lacking all substance or integrity.

Their only ” achievement ” whilst laudable considering what they had done previously was scaling back on or deprecating the practice of murder or acts of terror as a tool against detractors or differently inclined.

I’ll be downvoted into oblivion for typing it..
These people are not leftwing or progressive. They’re the opposite behind closed doors. They’re using entriest tactics to steal power.

They will tell the electorate everything they want to hear. In government they are infantile, petty and an embarrassing liability.

Their most avowed apologists and supporters tend to be utterly twisted and questionable (being generous)..

I know little about FG / FF but whatever they are (warts and all) they are infinitely superior to a certain alleged semi criminal enterprise increasingly seducing the young and uninformed through social media and fake progressive optics

It’s the decision of your electorate ultimately but do think deeply and tread very carefully.

I think you have to get to near 50% to get into power.

Which it makes it look to me that its hard to get into power without FG or FF. But possibly you could combine lab, soc dems and a few others to bring up the total enough?

  9. If sinn fein go into a coalition with those scumbags that’s it for me. No party is good enough for me.

  10. Honestly the better question is why SF would go into coalition with FF? Unless something dents their polling, it’s really not necessary.

  11. I would 100% support a SF/FF coalition. SF have the will and the mandate but outside their front bench the quality of candidate falls pretty sharply. They’ve been the opposition so long that there are quite a few contrarians in there that wouldnt survive as independents. FF would bring experience and knock a few of the rough edges off.

Really, people just want someone O’Broin for Housing. Doherty would probably get Health whether he likes it or not.

  12. Was it not long ago he was saying he’d never go in coalition with SF. Can’t trust a word out of that snakes mouth
