  1. 10 mins after they started, so they are just cruising along. So theoretically yes possible that she can catch up.

    If it really happened, not sure – not really newsworthy.

  2. don’t know but if she’d been allowed to join the men’s group then she’d have gotten a massive boost as she could ride inside the men’s peleton and thus relatively wind-free, as of such it’d not be fair to her competitors

  3. iirc it was the Omlop Het Nieuwsblad a few years back, yes it happend. It was poor planning of the races. When people who have no knowledge in cycling it tends to be taken out of context.

  5. After reading the comments, which did a good job explaining what happened. I’ve decided to downvote this post because it’s just fueling anger for no reason.

    Organizers do dumb mistakes sometimes. This is not a “man v woman” issue. This is a: “Organizers need to do better” issue.
