Politics would be much better if instead of parties we just had all independents. People voted based on if something’s actually a good idea rather than what the party is pushing.

If things are a three line whip (three red lines under the motion on your proceedings sheet, or whatever it is called) then you must vote with the party. To not do so is to risk having the whip withdrawn, as has happened. He said that you might be able to defy a three line whip once but not twice before having the whip withdrawn.
All of which is very so so but what makes this government different is that every vote is a three line whip. It breaks the idea of democracy when the truth is that every MPs job in is to vote how they are told. Why bother having local manifestos if that is the case?
The party system is broken and is being abused by Boris Johnson to his own ends.
Literally the only MP who even vaguely remembers submitting that letter of no-confidence a few months ago.
This government cant handle the truth…

There were about 15 Tories in total who didn’t vote, including another army boy, Johnny Mercer. It’s odd how only one of them was targeted.
He wasn’t in the country. It wasn’t like he just stayed at home.
