Help with Norwegian Package! Collect for Pickup?

  1. It looks like your package has arrived at REMA1000 Kalbakken which is the point where you can go and get your package. Everything that is too big for your postbox is sent to the point closest to you that the business uses. This is normally a store of some kind. Just go to the store and ask for package delivery

  2. Wanted to clarify that I am the sender from the US looking to have this delivered to a specific address, looks like the best option is to call the recipient and tell them it is at the local store to pick up?

  3. You should provide the tracking number to the receiver if you have not yet done that. Everything else I would expect the receiver to handle themselves, without any action from you. The receiver should get a notice from Posten that they have a package waiting for pickup, but it is nice to have the tracking number in case that notice doesn’t show up.

This is a completely normal way for people to receive packages in Norway. If the receiver is Norwegian he has for sure been trough this several times and knows how to receive packages in Norway.

  4. Parcels (packages) are not delivered directly to houses like they are in the United States. This is completely normal. The postal service has notified the recipient of the parcel with instructions. It is also sufficient for the recipient to bring the tracking number to the pickup-point.
