The sad thing about EOKA is that it should have had an anti-imperialist character first and foremost. I do believe that the majority of GCs were pro-enosis at the time,however that does not exonerate EOKA from being anti-communist and anti-TCs.
EOKA could have been an inclusive, anti-imperialist force that propelled us into the 21st century and instead it became the spark that ignited the partition of the island. Don’t get me wrong, TMT and right-wing TCs are of equal blame, but EOKA could have been so much more. Something that all Cypriots could actually be proud of.
