Old-fashioned Greece has no chance of becoming truly developed

  1. Thanks for writing this. Living in greece is indeed a frustrating experience of arrested development that leads to learned helplessness.

  2. All of this is true. I’m tired of hearing how great life is in Greece from tourists or Greeks who live abroad and visit for vacation. Yes, there is sea and sun and laid-back vibes but you don’t experience our everyday life so please don’t say how lucky I am to be living in this so-called paradise.

And I’m tired of governments and politicians showcasing flashy investments related to tourism as if it’s something big and modern that cements our country’s position in the global stage. No it ain’t, it’s just fancy for people from more developed and organized countries to visit and have a better time; the lives of Greeks are still shit. You aren’t part of them because of advancing the touristic experience so at least don’t try to make it different than it is.

  3. Yeah because what we need is for a couple of brits to tell us how to live/run our country…That has worked so well in the past…/s
