I called bolt once on a scooter on the pavement. In their defence, they moved it
It’s so fucking annoying walking in sliema now with these scooters scattered everywhere. Whether it’s in the road, pavement or promenade, it’s just littered around.
I wish they applied the rules what they do in Milan. They specify spots where you have to park the scooters. You can find it in app using the GPS. If you don’t park it properly or in the right spot, and the police send the fine to Bolt (or whoever the provider is) and they deduct the amount of the fine from the user who broke the rule/law. The operator can see using logs and GPS data if the last user was in fact guilty or not.
I m waiting what the Dutch will do. They are still not permitted in the Netherlands, with them being arguably most ready for them with bike infrastructure.
I just want them to drive safely and maybe wear a helmet. I see tourists/foreigners riding these around sometimes and I just close my eyes expecting an accident to happen half the time.
Just get used to it, how often do you report the lawless wild west car traffic?
You can use the Bolt app itself to report badly parked scooters.
Walking with a pushchair in Marsaxlokk was also a struggle a couple of years ago. Tables and chairs taking most of the pavement was a bummer
