If the Ukraine people want to fight, we should support them if they want a negotiated settlement we should support them. What we shouldn’t do is provide talking points for an unmitigated cunt like Yuri Filatov to further an imperialist agenda.
The letter was posted on the President of Ireland website and has since been deleted. Disgraceful really.
She could have avoided this by clearly naming Russia as the aggressor. Wishing for a peace settlement is perfectly legitimate, it’s how most wars end. But by presenting both Putin and Zelensky as having an equal responsibility for the continuation of the war, it was obvious that it would be seized by the Russian state propaganda machine.

She’s the spouse of an elected official, she wasn’t elected herself by the people to give commentary on political situations
Calling for a negotiated settlement is a perfectly reasonable and humane position to take. People have become demented that they will only tolerate one single type of opinion on this conflict.
Advocating the surrender of a portion of your country is a particularly bad look for us of all countries.
There are users in this thread that supported Russia back in feb and they seem to have changed their tune now. We have a fair few cunts on this island.
