Opinion: Boris has left his party with a tough choice – a leader to the right or hard right

  1. Having lived in the US, Thailand and Singapore I can say with a degree of confidence neither of those 2 are right wing, let alone hard right. Right of centre at best, or worst depending on your view.

  2. The thing that is most concerning, as Flanagan ends with, is that Johnson’s disastrous policies which have brought us to the brink of recession, the highest inflation in 40 years, a cost of living crisis, the highest debt to GDP since 1963, mass strikes and civil unrest, destroyed our world standing, alienated our closest trading partners, and resulted in the deaths of at least 184 thousand people, are not what voters are apparently upset about.

They’re quite content that he did all that damage and brought the country to its knees. It was simply that he’s a bit of a naughty boy (which is what they all loved him for in the first place!)

  3. If youre hoping for a labour win, bear in mind boris has left us so deep in a hole that even really minor things will be huge crowd pleasers. With the power of the media behind them there’ll more than likely be a tory win next election.

Labour are in an impossible position that anything they say theyll do the tories can just steal and were far enough away from an election that stealing will be forgotten

  4. Fancy that, a right-wing leaning party is offering up a choice of right-wing leaning candidates to take up the role of Prime Minister. What a crazy concept!
