Never, cos politica in Malta are stupid, and if you are on public payroll, you can get away with not doing your job
there are several politicians right now that would be impeached in a normal country but not malta.
Like animal farm, some animals are equal (us the common folks) but some animals are more equal than others (Politicians and the “mega” rich)
Will never happen. Politicians don’t accept blame or responsibility, their supporters will never blame them.
The real question is, why does this country need both a PM and a President? The president role seems so redundant. It’s a glorified tea drinking, ribbon cutting role.
It’s disappointing to see.
So wait. We have a president, but when he’s abroad for a few days, the acting president takes over? The said that he will not sign it but when he’s abroad the acting president will do so. So basically this president is just there, doing nothing, getting paid from my €700 a month taxes? Do you need much of an effort to grab a pen and sign a paper?
Taxes well spent ha nghidilkom.
Malta has a middle age approach in politics.
He will never get impeached, most prob will be dubbed a hero.
>Questions sent to the office of the president earlier this week have remained unanswered.
Of course.
If I recall, I think a proper impeachment procedure against the President is kind of unclear or not exactly specified since it’s never really been done.
But yeah George Vella is fucking stupid. If he disagrees with a law for moral or ethical reasons then no problem, he is more than welcome to step down and forego his comfy €90,000 a year salary. If he does not want to fulfil his constitutional duty and his easy job, then he should resign.
He was incredibly evasive when asked if he would sign the IVF bill into law and his only reply was “The Presidency will sign it” and evaded journalists when asked specifically if *he* would sign it. Evaded signing a law that has been passed is a serious disregard for the democratic process, whether you agree with that law or not. We pay this fucker €90K a year and now he’s bitching about picking up a pen and signing it. You’re 80 years old George! IVF and genetic testing is not going to affect you in any way shape or form. You’re never going to stand for another election, your public image, wealth or whatever will not be negatively affected by you actually doing your fucking job.
