  2. Fair enough if you had good experiences with him previously, but when you find out he’s being charged with raping a child, how can you still give a reference for him in good faith? Like surely your opinion of him would change after finding out what he’s getting convicted for, regardless of a good experience with him, how is their opinion of him not tainted

  3. Those giving references should be willing to come and provide them as sworn testimony in court, and be open to cross examination. If you’re not willing to stand over it like that then fuck off.

  4. When a person gives a reference, are they told about the severity of the crime? The dirty cunt was up for rape of his ex and her child, can the accused just say to an ex boss or whatever “can I get a character reference, up for driving without insurance, can ya help?”
    Are these just sent to the judge for consideration without the person writing the reference knowing the details of the case?

  5. Didn’t another judge in a different case order the people giving references order them to come before the court and say what they had to say and none did? That’s what should happen.

  6. The sad thing about this is the people giving the references know exactly what you are charged with?? Ok, if you were in a street fight and got an assualt charge the people giving the references may ask you for details and still go-ahead and support you, but WTF..rape , and sexual assaults 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️.. What amazes me is that people still amaze me.

    FFS, how can someone give a reference like that??
