“Why can’t cyclists just use the cycle lanes?”

  1. Probably just going to be a minute what’s your problem. Cyclists don’t even pay road tax…. but yeah should cover it in flour and eggs or bird seed 😉

  2. I’ve always wanted to walk on top of cars that stop their car in the middle of a traffic crossing when I get the green man.

What does stopping there achieve exactly other than making them look like a right clown.

  3. That’s in Tallaght, social housing, so complain to South County Dublin County Council, their offices are 5 minutes away. Take photos. In fact, I’ve seen traffic wardens out there.

  4. That’s a shit cycle lane anyway, I wouldn’t use it. Cycle lanes on footpaths are shit to cycle on. Its annoying when people park in lanes but it’s more annoying when money is wasted on infrastructure that’s not fit for purpose

  5. “why is the cyclist on the road when there’s a perfectly good cycle lane there” cause it’s shit, badly designed, is just paint on a rough path or this happens all along it too much making it worthless

  6. Cyclist need to learn that owning a BMW exempts the owner from the rules if the road, and, they are allowed Park where ever they want.

  7. Not trying to defend the car since it looks empty but that’s just bad planning on the council’s part by granting permission where there’s not enough space for a vehicle to stop until the gate opens without sticking out into the cycle lane. Or perhaps the cycle lane was added after?

  8. The cycling and pedestrian infastrunture around Tallaght is an absolute shame especially when there’s plently of space unlike the city.

  9. Would it be illegal if ppl started to walk over the cars to reach the other side of the sidewalk since they are blocking the way?

  10. I’m rural and on one of my cycling routes there’s maybe a 100m bit on a main road of a cycling lane blocked by an advertise thing then on down 10kms away there’s about 20m and it’s covered in glass it’s more dangerous to rejoin the road then after going off into that particular one
