Irish rail is truly a horrible experience. Was home at Christmas scumbag couple fighting, train was dirty and was 3 min minutes late into my arrival station. Stark contrast from the rail company I’m used of dealing with.
I guess I’m lucky, since any time I ride the train there isn’t usually stuff like that happening. Although I’d imagine its far more common in Dublin or Cork
We need to get the Japanese in, a public apology for being 20 seconds late? You’ll be lucky to get any acknowledgement if a train was 20 hours late here.

Sounds like a great weekend in Vegas.
The trains are an extension of Dublin’s inner city. Absolute hovels.
Lol, I thought this was going to be an FOI request for complaints or something but it turns out the it’s sourced from three people, all suspected r/ireland posters. Very scientific.
I take the dart most days and have never had any issues, my biggest problem with trains over the years has been frequency of service and overcrowding, never enjoyed having to stand between carriages for two hours or more.
Classic independent finding another way to demonize the Irish public.
Dublin to Cork train one evening I did see a fairly tense argument come close to violence. A group of rough looking fellas in cheap suits having a mini standoff with two fellas in their best tracksuits who had come up from a different carriage.
I can only guess that they must have been coming back from a day at the four courts.

Via the reflection of the overhead glass storage, I could see someone using a book to hide their phone which was playing porn.
Was also stuck at a 4 seat table across from a large lady who was reading one of those 50 shades books for the full 2+hrs, wriggling around in her seat and taking short phone calls from the fella she was going down to meet.
Seen a filthy fella openly clip his toenails, but I think that was either Cobh to Cork or Midleton to Cork, it was a smaller train.

Never noticed anything drugs related, but about once a month someone seems to get arrested in Kent station in Cork with a big load of heroin on them.
I think the stations are worse than the trains to be honest, Connolly ranks as the worst train station in any country I recall being in.
Oh my god! That’s disgusting! Oral sex on a train! Where? What train line did that happen on?
