Channel migrants: More than 1,000 cross the Channel in a week

  1. There has got to be a solution to this, surely it’s not beyond the wit of man. Yes let’s help people, but don’t allow money to go into the hands of human traffickers / criminal gangs

  2. Put ’em on cruise liners and park ’em out at sea until processed and then kick ’em out on some beach somewhere else, just not here. Solved.

  3. The only solution is to refuse them if they have traveled through numerous safe countries, and give them directions to some other European country or even an escort.

  4. It’s an unsustainable invasion. We simply don’t have the infrastructure for this, no matter how your heart might bleed for them. I would suggest a education program in which they can study a course here, then are required to leave. That way they return to their home country’s with a better education and can help make improve it.

  5. Until we address the problem of misplaced empathy leading to the “let everyone in” means of social collapse instead of examining how to fix broken nations -if we’re invited else it’s colonialism – this problem will be nothing more than bleeding hearts and poor communities wrecked with the kind of multiculture that destroys the existing culture and calls those people racist for being upset by it.

  6. Someone has to start turning those boats around. That’s what military ios for, right, to protect the borders of a country?

  7. Pure Brexit in action.

Removing Britain from the Dublin Convention and other EU agreements on migration and refugees = if you can get ashore, you won’t be forced to leave again any time soon.

But of course a government wedded to Brexit as a means of “taking back control of our borders” would never admit it’s been a real gift to human trafficking.

  8. Unfortunately this is a ‘got to be cruel to be kind’ situation where all boats should be turned back to discourage journeys and the law explicitly changed to make migration through crossings illegal.

In parallel with this additional legal refugee assessment routes through France and embassies should be created to give genuine refugees the opportunity to apply outside of the UK.

  9. 1000 more men who have all paid thousands to smugglers, while the women, the children and the old are all left behind to suffer and be trafficked…

If you can make the hard and dangerous journey to the UK illegally you can stay! And if you can’t then hard luck.

What a great system we have, generously helping the selfish and leaving those that really need help to suffer…

Send them back to where they have come from, all the way back to the home country. And fly in those that really need help

  10. There are car ferries and the Channel Tunnel. The “illegal traffickers “ exist only because of the UKIPTories official policies
