Why hedge cutting shouldn’t happen this time of year

  1. I found this litter of shrews still trying to suckle their dead mother in a freshly cut hedge. It’d be too coincidental if the cutter didn’t kill it.

  2. Unfortunately, country roads are becoming impassable due to not cutting of the hedges. It is very dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and motorists to now be on such roads. There needs to be a middle ground. I’m sure there would be complaints if motorists in urban roads were not able to see well in front of them

  3. That’s very sad. Poor little things. There’s a family of them in my hedge too and my cat keeps killing some. Poor babies. I never realised I don’t like cats until I got one

  4. You need to report this.

I just done it with my council also.

They cut altitude a road that did not order a safety risk to anyone. Some council workers just want to do work for no good reason.

  5. Hedge cutting is banned between 1st March and 31st August so if it’s legitimately the council that’s a very easy report and problem solved. Would be a incredibly bad look.

Seems unlikely it was the hedge cutter though, I mean it definitely wasn’t a direct hit so it would have had to have been death from either shock or a cat etc but a hedge cutter is kinda slow, plenty of time to run I would have thought.

    Probably a cat tbh.
