But, they didn’t sort out insurance. They thought they did, but they got it wrong and the insurance they had didn’t cover them. I appreciate small print isn’t interesting and most people skip it, but they’ve just spent £10,000 to learn why that’s not a good idea.

That said, this is obviously a horrible situation and you can donate to help them with the costs [here](https://www.gofundme.com/f/this-family-get-this-beautiful-boy-home).

  2. I wish people would take responsibility for themselves. So many people expect to be spoonfed and handheld all their lives. If you’re going abroad and are heavily pregnant, bloody check to make sure you have suitable coverage in the entirely predictable event that your baby comes early!

  3. Maybe it is just me but I wouldn’t go on holiday with a heavily pregnant wife let alone without thoroughly checking the small print on an the insurance. It is shit for them but it is off their own making and I have no sympathy

  4. *Turkish state owned hospitals are free for foreigners* – either via ambulance or walk-in. I know i was both surprised and grateful to receive amazing care, a prophylactic course of rabies vaccines, an extra tetanus shot – all at no cost and with no questions asked. In my experience Turkish people were generally extremely hospitable and helpful, much more than most other countries I’ve visited.

So yeah, I have to wonder if these tourists didn’t fuck up by not googling and checking out the basic healthcare situation in Turkiye.

  5. If they look up ‘Sympathy’ they’ll find it somewhere in the dictionary between ‘Shit’ and ‘Syphilis’.

I just find that whole Go Fund Me fucking outrageous sometimes. Donate to such wank spangles all you like but I’ll just think you’re pillock.

  6. I bet if they named the insurance company, they would meet the bill. Fear of losing business as then people would go elsewhere for insurance.

  7. Is this not why we have adequate travel insurance? You’d definitely be able to get a policy covering this for less than £100.

  8. I am baffled why they went on holiday while she was pregnant – adding massive risk to the trip not just this financial mess they got themselves into.
