Tomorrow there will be a traditional horse race to celebrate the Feast of St. Margaret in Ta’ Sannat, Gozo. Unfortunately they have decided to host this race in the afternoon. I don’t know if this is what they do every year, but intentional or not, racing horses in the afternoon sun is not how we should treat these gentle and graceful creatures.

There is already some protest on social media, but if you could spare a minute to politely protest the timing of the event, the number of the LC of Ta’ Sannat is 2155 4747. You’ll probably reach a clerk named Christian there as the mayor is not in this morning.

  2. Although this is a tradition, these types need to be banned. It is animal abuse. The same goes for Imnarja donkey race. They race the poor animals in the blazing sun.
