How on earth is it worth it ?

  1. It isn’t worth the 5 cts, obviously.

But if they’d always simply accept insufficiently franked letters a lot of senders would probably start to do it on purpose to save money.

So they have to enforce the rules even if it’s not directly worth it because otherwise they’d probably start to lose more each year.

  2. Don’t they usually add a service charge of CHF 1.- on top? I think they just temporary waive for this specific case because not everyone has yet realized that A and B post got slightly more expensive and keep using their old stamps.

Edit: ah, this is for the recipient, then I doubt they ever added the service charge in such cases.

  3. The other day the fucking Steueramt sent me a REGISTERED mail because I seem to somehow owe them 20 CHF (yes, 20, not 20k). I mean, that is just stupid, they know where I live, and that the 20 CHF attached to the pretty nice sum I will have to send them the next year will be the easier choice.

  4. The 5cts are more like a punishment for you. It’s embarrassing that you wanted to save on it and you got caught.

  5. Don’t get me started on that, I received a 1.6 CHF bill in march, they probably lost more by sending it, treating it, and aknowledge the payment.

  6. Once I sent a message and forgot to put a stamp… It required payment for the stamp + 2CHF fine. And It was delivered a week late.

  7. Just be happy with our system. In other countries they would send back the thing to you as you made the mistake.

  8. everything post is honestly so shit. postfinance want some money for every fucking paper they send you on top of that they somehow are able to just randomly delete your postfinace account completly and do not give you anything back for damadges and you even have to pay multiple trips too zug to get shit handled.

happend to a friend of mine
