One of the PSNI GAA team members called into Talkback there to give more background on it – it was an invite to a three county blitz and the other teams would have been aware it was the PSNI team.
Cops generally keep a low profile outside work in the north and don’t make their profession known, especially Catholic members. The event would’ve been pretty public with a lot of other teams, so doesn’t really suit their general MO of how they go about life.
Which the BelTel interprets as sectarianism to screech to the rooftops about.
I played the cops in American football, even then a cop car sat in the car park in case anything went down.
