They have never taken their jobs seriously, they have always thought of themselves as above everyone else and entitled to rule.
I mean they were explicitly hired on a platform of not being serious
They want to be PM, they do not want to be a leader. Being a personality worked for Johnson and has set the tone for the Tories for the next few years at least, so we will see Sunak and Truss do the same until the public tires of it. I just cannot see either being charismatic enough to pull it off like Johnson, so it will die off pretty quickly.
