Seems to have partially worked with Turkey (no sanctions, open airspace, open for tourism). Could possibly work with Germany as well.
Russians have built their pipelines in a way that they can cut countries individually when they want to. If Peter Zeihan is correct, most of europe will start hating Germans, and they have already begun if we take a look at the Eurovision results(Yes, Eurovision is political).

Schroeder gets a lot of deserved criticism but I think he also deserves some credit for reliability. The man sold himself and he remains sold. No flip-flop, no backtracking, just solid consistent defence of the people paying his bills.
Schroeder is an old idiot, who cannot admit that increasing germanys reliance on russian gas by over 60% was wrong in terms of independence. There is some harcore cognitive dissonance at work here.
Of course he is right back to his buddy putin and parrots exactly the narrative that benefits HIM and HIS legacy the most.
