Believe it or not, but it was one of the most successful campaigns in our history. There was criticism of course, but many people though about it as a cool joke.
I believe there was more praise than criticism. I personally think it’s a genius ad. In other words, sex sells.
If somebody got offended, probably because they don’t know what or where the G spot is.
Wasn’t there quite a few rustled feathers because this ad premiered (as a coincidence?…) right before the pope’s visit to Lithuania?
There were some criticism, but in general, in my buble at least, everyone was quite positive towards this ad. Me too. Loved it. Wasnt the agency “Go Vilnius” ?
Marketing students came up with the idea and Vilnius team liked it and asked to use it in reality. Ofcourse there was controversy, from Christians, from those that don’t have sense of humor, others thought it represents our country as a place where you go for sex 🤭 I think it’s brilliant idea and great visuals.
It’s obviously G for “Gabrielius Landsbergis”, guys
Even John Oliver made a segment of his “Last Week Tonight” about this campaign, so I guess we can call it a great success.
In my circle, absolutely everyone thought that it was hilarious!:)
That was hilarious ad and best one ever.
I can actually tell the origin story. My wife and her buddy designer from Atomic Garden (a marketing school of sorts) did this as an assignment for one of their classes. Accidentally, one of the local influencers found it and posted it online 2 years after it was done. The ad took over our internet in an instant – we actually came out of the cinema with 20+ missed calls. Naturally, Go Vilnius (Vilnius’ tourism agency) hired my wife and that dude designer to prepare a full campaign. The rest is history. The one with the girl grabbing the sheet is the original assignment.
That’s the best ad ever. Makes a good point lol
Zuokas hated it 🙂
It’s a bit too naughty for my taste, however- the idea was cool and most consider it a success.
Did it cause a controversy? A minor one, yes, primarily with hardcore Christians who thought this was ‘immoral’. Most people liked it though, and it did garner attention worldwide, so you can consider it successful.
Quite a lot of people saw it as a bit cringy, but there wasn’t a real controversy about that. The only controversy came from the same tiny minority, which exists in every country, that you could count on being offended by literally anything related to sex. Overall a success
The people complaining about this ad are literal softies. What is there to complain about? Like big deal. Those of whom complain simply have some sort of weak spot when it comes to talking openly about sex. Or just simply traditionalists. In Laymans terms, great ad 🙂
It was very creative and taboo and obviously controversial. But that is what made it so successful so in the end people quite liked it
The success of the campaign is usually judged by the consistency of the message in long term delivery. This campaign had none of it. It was pure outburst and then void. I think this is a total fail. Short term result – yes, but nothing that would be a start of a long strategic communication and country positioning.
But where’s the prostate?
GoVilnius promotion team commissioned it and I think it’s awesome, been showing it to all my foreign friends.
Dumb
Typical ad for a country that has very little to offer, people cuming over…nothing.
Some controversy was raised it being too vulgar, but it did resonate, so I guess it was a success short term at least.
Too edgy for my taste, but i usually like different things than the majority, so it doesn’t matter
This is amazing. I love it.
As a Lithuanian, I approve of this 100%, but I don’t like it because it’s false advertising, since I don’t cum when I see national landmarks
