Cool. Can they keep that up for a few years though?
Worth highlighting that 2 years ago people were saying Labour winning would be impossible off the back of the electorla losses of 2019.
A 70 strong majority for Labour in the commons would be a political miracle. It’s unlikely, due to Scotland, but there are certainly electoral routes to a majority of around 25-30 on these numbers.
Glad the Tories finally created enough bad press that Labour can finally coast through
Don’t panic, Labour are just about to self destruct again. The torries will call a GE at the sweet spot between them getting their shot together and labour not. 5 more years of Torry rule.
Conservatives are toast when this winters “Cost of Greed” truly hits us all. We’re heading towards an economic car crash we’ve never seen before, this will affect everyone. Even multi income families/couples, who can afford to pay the increased bills and inflation costs, are going to see they have so much less disposable income.
You could put a pig in a suit and pin a red rosette on it and people will be voting for the pig just to get rid of the Tories come 2023.
I’m sure with the constituency boundary changes, this will still mean a small majority for the tories
Media are very good at bringing labour down though
Wonderful news
I remember when people proclaimed the tory party a dead party and finished when May was leader. 6 months later 80 seat majority.
They are a shit that never flushes. Take nothing for granted.
I’ll believe it when I see it.
Maybe it’s good that Starmer is gunning for the Tory voters. A divided right wing can only be good for this country.
My support is going towards the Greens. I live in a Labour safe seat constituency so it’s not like the Tories have any chance of winning here.
Labour’s ability to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory should not be underestimated. Unions and strikes should help them have the necessary public punch up and split.
Best of a bad bunch at the moment and with undemocratic FPTP, this is good news.
Looking back at party gate and all that jazz, I couldn’t understand why Keir didn’t wade in for a free hit.
Maybe, just maybe, he played a blinder with his long game and was quite happy for them to dismantle themselves independently of Labour.
Sustainable collapse, sounds like an oxymoron but perhaps coming to fruition.
At least Labour can say with their red roses on their sleeve that they acted with integrity and can’t somehow be dragged into the shitshow.
I like it!
Now the only problem is whether the Tories have time to repair their god awful image before a GE?
Like an Olympic track athlete who trains only for that one race and cares not one jot about any others
Or even better there’s enough time for even more shit to storm
It won’t last. The Tories will have a new leader and will begin the mass smear campaign via class wars. Expect more benefit Britain and Rowanda like bullshit next year as they ramp it up. They can only win tapping into anger and fear.
Goverments should have to dissolve who consistently fail to lead polls.
I’m a Labour supporter – there’s going to be a scrap over union support soon within the party that will be damaging to getting the Tories out. I’m a strong union and workers rights advocate
Step 1 view labour in next GE
Step 2 find someone like Martin to spearhead a national campaign for PR voting
Step 3 boycott any future election and vote for said PR party.
Step 4 get PR
step 5 ???
Step 6 the country is fixed
The only thing people really care about is the economy and which party will make them better off. The Tories are presiding over an absolute collapse in the average person’s quality of life. A few policies to fix this should make it an easy win for Labour when the time comes.
There is a big if though… they need policies that leas to a fairer distribution of wealth (not income).
cant wait for blair 2.0 to continue NHS privatization and union busting policies of the tories under a labour banner, finally things are starting to look up.
If Labour could stop fighting themselves for 5 minutes and just hold the Conservative government accountable for the past 12 years of failings that lead could be a 50 point lead.
At this point it feels like the Labour Party is the main opposition to the Labour Party.

It’s not through anything Labour has done though
