  1. Judgment:

    Highlights:

The Court found that it was necessary to treat the Claimant’s [Vardy] evidence with very
considerable caution, determining that significant parts of her evidence were not
credible. There were many occasions when the Claimant’s evidence was manifestly
inconsistent with the contemporaneous documentary evidence, evasive or implausible

The Court found that the Claimant [Vardy], together with Ms Watt, was party to the disclosure
to The Sun of the Marriage, Birthday, Halloween, Pyjamas, Car Crash, Gender
Selection, Babysitting and Flooded Basement Posts. The Court considered it likely that
Ms Watt undertook the direct act, in relation to each post, of passing the information
to a journalist at The Sun, **but found that the Claimant knew of, condoned and was
    actively engaged in this process**

  2. Instead of spending over a million pounds on this court case, perhaps Vardy could have rented a submersible to recover her agent’s mobile phone from the North Sea floor.

No doubt the messages on there would have exonerated her.

  3. >The court says the loss of the WhatsApp messages between Vardy and her agent was “deliberate rather than accidental”. Essentially the judge did not accept that a mobile phone accidentally fell over the side of a boat in the North Sea shortly after a request was made to search it.

So wouldn’t that be contempt of court or perjury?

  4. The hilarity of people clicking on this thread and taking the time to type all to express how they don’t care about it.

Stroll on if it’s not for you- it’s an interesting legal case and acting like you’re too cool to care about it, but can’t resist commenting and insulting the women involved, shows you for a fool

  5. I turned on Sky News to see if they had anything on it (not gonna lie, I loved every second of the trial, was great fun) and was really shocked at how unprofessional it’s become.

They’d a presenter who had clearly never heard of Agatha Christie before and kept pronouncing the trial as “waGATHa” before then going on to speak of the personnel involved (which she pronounced “personal”).

  6. Just in case people are again claiming that Rooney is some sort of legal genius ,the difference between the two of them –

1 Rooney took her solicitors advice.
2 Vardy did not take her solicitors advice.

  7. I honestly enjoyed every second of this. Not for the celebs involved, honestly don’t care about them either way, but for the sheer lengths that people go to to be ‘right’ about pointless, meaningless, shit.

I’m left wondering just how empty of actual concerns your life must have to be that you’re willing to spend a fortune, and so much time, contesting this as if it’s of vital importance. No-one gave a shit about Rebekah Vardy before this, if it had died a death that would’ve been it, now she’s managed to sue herself into being a known liar willing to lie under oath. It’s spectacular.

  8. The BBC news at 12 had this story as the lead, with a live reporter saying “ she LOST, I repeat, Vardy LOST” 5 or 6 times as if it was somehow ridiculously important and shocking.

The second story was on how the government fucked up in Afghanistan and then lied about it.

    Priorities, I guess

  9. The richest who seem to only be able to settle these cases in the high court should pay huge fees for the court’s time

  10. I mean did anyone actually believe her?

She’s got a strong of texts talking about how she hates Colleen and wants to leak stories, then the rest of the evidence is at the bottom of the north sea.

She got exactly what she deserved which is a legal bill

  11. What gets me is that vardy had a perfect life where she didn’t have to work and lived a millionaires lifestyle, but that want enough

She got greedy, and then doubled down when she got found out by Colleen.

  12. Why is Vardy now not in bigger trouble for deleting and destroying evidence?

Every article acknowledges this and the judge does too, but there doesn’t seem to be any follow-up?

Surely they throw the book at her or it’s a green light for others.

  13. Can someone please educate a non-legal savy guy and briefly explain how this case costs the actual taxpayer?

I would have thought a case like this was a private matter. What crime was committed?

  14. Pretty incredible that Vardy sued for libel, despite knowing full well the allegations were entirely true. Got what she deserved.

Goodness, this case has been fun to follow. I don’t watch football, but this was pure entertainment.

  15. Jamie Vardy unsurprisingly must be thicker than pig shit because anyone with half a brain would have refused to fund this clown show.
