Why not make it a tax linked to the amount of CO2 exhausted?
If the plane is more fuel-efficient, less tax is paid.
Seems like a no-brainer to me.

While I’m not opposed to the idea….this feels like such a stupid execution.
People flying private jets aren’t suddenly going to book commercial flights over a smal tax, so all this does is bring in money (that sure as shit isn’t spent on green initiatives) and cost political capital
Why are all parties dancing around one of the bigger things, IMO: In 2019 the governent gave around 447 million euros of sponsoring to kerosene. Why are we sponsoring the usage of airplanes in general? Shouldn’t we be sponsoring train travel instead?
Oh no a 3000 euro tax on a plane costing a couple hundred thousand euros whatever shall we do. Just another half assed measure from a half assed government.

What counts as private? We have a 2 weekly retour flights on a small chartered plane between our head offices. So that’s 4 flights/week, 12k/week in taxes, not bad I guess.
Apparently the charter flight is cheaper than commercial when there are at least 6 people on the flight
