When has that ever mattered for the head of a party? They can ask likeminded MPs from their own party to submit it.

  2. Good idea, bad execution.
Why not make it a tax linked to the amount of CO2 exhausted?

If the plane is more fuel-efficient, less tax is paid.

Seems like a no-brainer to me.

  3. While I’m not opposed to the idea….this feels like such a stupid execution.

People flying private jets aren’t suddenly going to book commercial flights over a smal tax, so all this does is bring in money (that sure as shit isn’t spent on green initiatives) and cost political capital

  4. Why are all parties dancing around one of the bigger things, IMO: In 2019 the governent gave around 447 million euros of sponsoring to kerosene. Why are we sponsoring the usage of airplanes in general? Shouldn’t we be sponsoring train travel instead?

  5. Oh no a 3000 euro tax on a plane costing a couple hundred thousand euros whatever shall we do. Just another half assed measure from a half assed government.

  7. Ah shit my company will go bankrupt.

What counts as private? We have a 2 weekly retour flights on a small chartered plane between our head offices. So that’s 4 flights/week, 12k/week in taxes, not bad I guess.

Apparently the charter flight is cheaper than commercial when there are at least 6 people on the flight

    for the non dutch speakers:

private jets are tax free because they’re exempt from co2 tax on top of that kerosene is also not taxed. The only tax is maximum 10 euros on flights longer than 500km.

in other words the rich fucks aren’t paying…again.

there you go, instead of inventing new rules which add more administrative burden and cost money to implement why not stop sponsoring all air travel? This is indeed bullshit for the newscycle.

    Kerosine is not taxed… lmao

edit: why am i reading posts on green politicians on reddit and nothing about NVA, VB or OpenVld dimwits? Someone farming social media?

  9. Chump change for a jet owner.

What kind of equality washing is this?

To start with…

    Daarna een UBI voor iedereen.

  10. Ideally we should stop subsidizing ALL means of transport and let them compete on price, comfort, speed and other benefits and let the customers choose which method of transport they want to use.

BeNeLux here we come.

  12. Expand it to include **all** planes instead of just private jets.

Jos en Marina who fly to Benidorm every year shouldn’t be exempt from paying extra for their destructive behavior
