Hey, does anyone know what this medal means?

  1. These were being awarded yearly for being the coolest (chłodnia) squad (składowa) in Tarnów (w Tarnowie) – your grandfather must have really rocked it with his dudes back in 1972

  2. It might be something along the lines of a simple identification plate – as fast check if someone is working here or so called “workers movement medal” sometimes given when the workplace hit an important milestone/production demand.

  3. Chłodnia = cold storage

Składowa = an adjective form of “storing” (well, one of the terms that have that meaning at least)

    W Tarnowie = In Tarnów

    “Cold storage warehouse in tarnów”.

  4. Hey that’s my city!

    I was born there! Tarnów!

I recognized the symbols instantly too.

  5. I’d be interested in the history, the small farm I was born in Słotowa is not Far and I use to bike to Tarnów na Zabawy, piłka nożna, Dziadek dał nam wódkę i piwo, a sędziowie do piłki nożnej palili i rozdawali papierosy jak cukierki. Mieliśmy może 8 lat 😂😂😂

  6. I’m from Tarnow, star and crescent moon (Leliwa) is the towns emblem. Emblem comes from Noble (szlachta) family. Not sure if Tarnowski or similar. Can be seen in few castles and palaces
