Senator Marco Rubio posted a great op-ed where he did a rebuttal to all of Hawley’s points. But the best response was by Senator Tom Cotton who called out Hawley on the senate floor [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsn2cuQLPDY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsn2cuQLPDY) they still have tensions from January 6th clearly. And both are rumoured to be running for President in 2024. A sign of things to come between the Bush/Hawk wing vs Trump/Isolationist wing
That doesn’t make any sense, surely you would want more allies then? Idk I’m expecting logic from the GOP here.
I propose to reassign Hawley to run NATO training on tactical retreats
His op-Ed is not bad actually. There’s a wing of GOP that believes US should move on to counter China and get on with Europe. EU needs to do more on defense. These are not poor countries, they have bigger total population. They should be able to handle their security. Valid points actually.
Honestly, I prefer the hawkish GOP to the isolasionist one. As long as their are hawkish towards the right targets.
