Rishi Sunak wants to define ‘vilification of the UK’ as extremism

  1. He’s saying whatever it takes to win over the older Conservative voters. Next thing will be “if you vote for me, I’ll bring Brunel back from the dead and we’ll build everything with bricks, wrought iron and steam”.

  2. What about villifying corrupt Indian billionaire oligarchs, and the type of social climbing dregs that marry into it, eh Rishi?

  3. And how do you plead on the charge of once listening to a rebel song which teaches versions of events which run contrary to the official version of the British Cohabitation of Ireland 1177-1921?

  4. I’ll be first in line so! I live in Manchester, support Scottish and Welsh independence and a united Ireland, am a socialist etc…

  5. That Tory party leadership contest has turned into a shitshow. They’ve now got into a tit for tat on promises that they cant keep. Truss is promising tax cuts that she’ll have to borrow £30bn to fund and even her own economic advisor said that it would result in 7% interest rates on mortgages, that would pin people to the wall if it happens.

  6. The Prevent programme is really fucking scary.

There’s been nursery school children sent to the police because they had toy guns. It’s crazy that any developed nation can have such a scheme in operation. While (in theory) it can be used to stop radicalisation, it could also be used against anyone who dares to have some wrongthink.

  7. Whoever gets in, Sunak or Liz Truss will start a war. I’d bet my left ball on it. They need that Rule Britannia Falklands islands boost Thatcher got, and to make all the old racists happy now that everyone there finally seems to be realising how insane Brexit was.

  8. This is they type of law they introduced in Turkey and Russia to quell criticism of the government/the status quo. Seems to be authoritarian 101 these days.

  9. The exact citation is “Whether redoubling our efforts to tackle Islamist extremism or rooting out those who are vocal in their hatred of our country, I will do whatever it takes to fulfil that duty,”. The stupid passage about “vilification” came from the commentator – Professor Tanja Bueltmann – not from Rishi.

Also he is a way better than Lizz “teasock” Truss, but I don’t think conservatives are prepared to vote for Indian pm.
