>In a statement taken a month after the attack, the police officer heartbreakingly said he was unable to kiss his wife and children due to his injuries, and could not drink or eat solid food. He said he had lost the majority of his senses and was unable to return to work. He said his children continue to worry about their father, and mother who is also an emergency worker

>Jack Love was sentenced to 30 months in a Young Offenders’ Institute for unlawful wounding, assault with intent to resist arrest and two counts of assaulting an emergency worker, the last two offences occurring at a hospital following his arrest where he kicked two police officers.
>Toby Love was sentenced to 20 months in a Young Offenders’ Institute for unlawful wounding and assault with intent to resist arrest
Absolutely fucking pathetic sentences for such a horrific, unprovoked attack. Should be multiple years in an actual prison.
I do wonder about these kids that have no power of foresight to realise that their actions might come back to bite them.
What was the original arresting offence?
The UK does seem to have a particular problem with young men running absolutely feral. This doesn’t happen nearly as much in the Netherlands where I’m from, not by a long shot.
E dindu nuffin, e woz a good boy! pleece bru’al’i’ee!
I live near where this happened, I drove past the shop he was attacked at the day after it happened and you could actually see bloodstains on the floor still. What a fucking surprise it was some cunts from Lundwood. Absolute shithole.
My knowledge of the law is very limited but why are they in a young offenders institution when one of them is 20? Surely if you keep battering emergency personnel and then horrifically injure a police officer they should have you in the big boy prison?

What a pathetic sentence. The courts need a complete overhaul. Too many times, little shits like this get away with a slap on the wrist.

Most comments on here are focused on the attackers, but I feel like the copper would have had a better time if there were two officers in the car rather than one.
Is this another case of cuts increasing danger for workers, or has it always been standard to have solo police officers driving around? My knowledge of this consists entirely of American police dramas, so I’ve not got a clue what the tradition is over here.
