I think it is a tough spot for these minors unfortunately. As the article said there are safeguarding concerns about letting minors in without a parent…
But probably some solution is within reach for a slightly edited policy or law to maybe say temporary guardianship can be awarded to the siblings of a minor, provided the parents are unable to currently look after their child and give their consent. Doesn’t really seem so difficult to me anyway. Probably a red tape issue that could be easily circumvented.
Yet government wonders why theres so many illegal crossings.
You do realise this is a deliberate thing by the home office? They can say “oh well we grant X thousand visas” but they know for a fact that if they deny the visa for one family member then the entire family will go elsewhere so the stats look good but they’re deliberately denying entry to families
