this is such a sad case but unfortunately i think the words “keep her son alive” are misleading. from what i can gather, he is not going to wake up
Is anyone else uncomfortable with every article on this story showing photos of his lifeless body? For his sake, I feel like we shouldn’t be seeing that.
The health secretary isn’t a necromancer. Your son has been dead for a while. Give it up for fucks sake.
I had to scroll past 5 or 6 ‘NHS in crisis’ articles to get to this point, it’s a joke, the kid is dead, his body is using up valuable resources and almost certainly causing a mental toll on the staff who have to care for him, I know this sounds callous but false kindness is only protracting this horrific ordeal
someone needs to put an end to this farce, the groups involved have taken a terrible tragedy and turned it into something cruel and inhumane, not for the boy but for everyone else involved, it’s time to have the funeral and start the grieving process
Another appeal that will go nowhere; the health secretary isn’t going to override the Supreme Court.
It’s also more misrepresentation; the mother is continuing to imply that the appeal to the UN – which she was denied the right to do twice this week, but did anyway and only after dragging it out as long as possible – is in some way legally backed or binding.
I feel for the father and everyone else involved, who sees that this just needs to end.
Two things apparent from that article.
1) She didn’t write that letter. She may have sent it, but it will have been written by the so-called “Christian” legal outfit that is “supporting” her (actually exploiting her).
2) Archie isn’t a disabled person, he’s a dead person.
She should just spend as much time with her son as she can and let him go in as dignified a manner as possible, and what she’s doing is **far** from dignified.
I suspect her next step will be to encourage all of the members of her “Facebook army” to lay siege to the hospital to “save her boy”.
This ghoul show isn’t over yet.
She’s posted to her Facebook group that the trust is going to ‘execute’ her son on Monday – claiming that they know he’d wake up soon, and it would look bad for the trust of that happened.
There is something not quite right about the whole thing
The boy is dead. I would have considered the mother inhumane for prolonging his suffering needlessly, except he’s gone. He’s not suffering. It’s just a lifeless pile of flesh being artificially maintained at this point.
Anyone who ever wanted to see a zombie cyborg, now’s your chance
The whole saga is just depressing. I won’t pretend to understand as I’ve never (had) or lost a child. But I do sense she’s got the wrong types of people influencing her. Hope she comes to her sense and lets her poor son pass away in peace.
“He’s dead, Jim”
I feel sorry for the medical staff who are the target of her histrionics. I hope everything goes OK on Monday and she snaps out of her delusions and is there for her son. Also hope the “army” of creepy overinvested FB mummies stfu and stay away from the hospital.
