Greece Imposes $114 Monthly Fine on Unvaccinated People Over 60

  1. Part of me is conflicted about this kind of stuff. Like I’m vaccinated and I’ll take the 3rd, 4th or whatever vaccine I’ll need for life to return back to normal. I also understand that some people refuse to take the vaccine, which is their right. But to fine them or make it manditory… that’s where I feel conflicted about.

I’d rather see it being harder to return back to normal life without a vaccine, or that certain jobs become unavailable if you don’t take the vaccines. It’s your choice to not take it, but it’s also the right for those who took it to wanting to go back to how life was. And science is telling us that the vaccine protects us well enough to stop most serious cases, which means these people are less likely to end up in the hospital.

A day will (hopefully) come where covid becomes like the flu. Something that can happen to everyone and isn’t really a big deal to 99% of us. We’re not making it manditory to vaccinate everyone against the flu either.

  2. Vaccines have been sometimes made compulsory for a hundred years, for the simple reason that some people are too stupid to take them.

  3. I’m triple vaccined. Still, imo, this method will generate resentment. I think it would have been better to have a surcharge on their health insurance or something.

  4. Fascist policy akin to something from Nazi germany.

Can you imagine France, Sweden or other liberal progressive countries doing this.

  5. Poor people will be vaccinated like cattle, and the rich can eat the cost and simply lead their lives as normal.

Even if you are in support of this law you should see the obvious discrimination towards the poor.

  6. It’s a desperate measure, given that the Health system is stretched very thin right now. It will force some people to be vaccinated so that they won’t end up in ICU from Corona. But naturally, there are others who are now more confident in their choice not to be vaccinated, just because the “evil state” now fines them for it.

  7. Lol big pharma implemented seasonal mandatory DLC

Holy shit I feel so bad for not dumping my life savings into the stock

  8. Of all the mandates this strikes me as a more reasonable one. Unvaccinated people who actually occupy hospital resources if sick will now pay the externality of their decision. So none of that removing from society and banning from any social activity nonsense. If you don’t want the vaccine, fine, but pay for the privilege. However, go about your life anyway. Ideally none of this would’ve been needed, but if hospitals are full some measures need to be taken, I suppose.

  9. Wow this is getting more sickening by the day. I just can’t comprehend that people actually can go along with this. I guess that’s what fear does with the general public.

  10. This worked, unfortunately, it was the only thing that did it. The vaccination rate in the ages above 60 tripled the first day and went x7 the second day. If it was me I would fine them 500€. Old Greeks don’t give a rats ass about vaccinating but they sure do about their money.

  11. really ? you think this is the reason ? I’m Greek and i can tell you the only reason why majority of Greeks don’t want to get “vaccinated” is because the old Greeks are not scared to die. They lived their lives to the fullest. Death doesn’t scare them. they’ve been through hell, and will never bend their knees to “live longer”. they know that their time is almost done. how much more life can they live. they believe whatever happens, happens. be it live today, or die tomorrow. its inevitable for them.

  12. I love my European news from American sources. I mean, the fee is 100 €, which makes much more sense to use. Fine if you want to convert it, but include the original value.
