How strange. In the fishing scene, the fish are in UK waters and in the dead immigrant scene, they’re in French waters.
I say let’s sort this out by an all out brawl between the National Assembly and the House of Commons with both Johnson and Macron in the arena.
Might add all the fishmongers as well.
Last man alive takes it all.
There’s actually some good reasoning behind this, it’s because fish are tastier than migrants.
Why these people are drowning emselves
Had a Greece-Turkey deja vu
I am from Canada
A country where the official language is French & English
People do not have a “right” to enter any country
Canada for example has one of the hardest immigrant policies in the world. In order to immigrate to Canada legally, you need to be well-educated, fluent in either English or French, have X amount of money saved up, no criminal record, no debt, have a job lined up, among other things. It’s very hard to get into Canada.
But others think [insert country] should accept them regardless of who they are
Italy and malta as well.
It just wouldn’t be r/europe without these shitfest comment sections once in a while ❤
one is a source of wealth, the other a bad investment, pretty rational if you ask me
I struggle to see which point the cartoon is trying to make.
Useless comparison
Just divide them in half

Well… yeah? We want the fish and don’t want the migrants. It’s tragic that these people died, but I don’t think either the UK or France are the blame.
Maybe it’s Katie Hopkins, the despicable crone.
Why would france call a bunch of fish bears?
I spent way too long searching for bears (in French “ours”) in this image to understand the punchline just to realize everything was written in English. xD
Amazingly enough, people (and thus nations) will often have different responses to **completely** different issues.
it’s almost as if one is beneficial to the country and one is not
How about the countries they come from?
This meme is inaccurate. It shows that half of the migrants are women and children while in reality, something like 90% are young men.
I mean one is desirable and the other is not. Makes sense to me.
We appear to have forgotten that this is not a new situation, illegal channel migration was happening when we were part of the EU. EU rules dictate that asylum seekers MUST claim asylum in the first EU country they arrived in, yet, they were making it to france unopposed.
Considering the EU did nothing to enforce their own asylum rules when we were part of the union, why would we expect them to enforce them now?

Don’t be mistaken, there is an immediate way to resolve this but it’s easier to send prayers.
Well fish makes you earn money.
Migrants make you loose much larger amount of money and bring insecurity.
Turns out fishing rights and illegal immigration are completely different issues despite both being related to the English channel.
who would’ve thought that people would fight for things they wanted and not for what they don’t?
