I don’t care if they don’t get over her, I just want the tories to govern with a bit of compassion and empathy, maybe stop cutting Universal Credit and stop voting to not feed starving kids? or reinstate the child poverty targets and actually work towards getting children out of poverty?
I often feel like a lot of thatcher’s biggest fans miss the central point of her, which was that she was revolutionary. Don’t like her ideas, but they were a new way of running the country and the economy. She overturned decades of British politics orthodoxy. She wasn’t looking backwards to rehash the ideas of someone who had been PM three decades before.
On the bright side, we can safely state that they’ve shit all over the “party of fiscal responsibility” claim. or maybe that’s not a bright side.
I can’t believe that the Conservative Party is so absent of any innovative ideas that they have to resurrect the stinking corpse of Thatcher.
I mean surely someone has two brain cells together to have maybe one idea… No? Neo-Thatcherism is born.
Tories need to get over Thatcher. Labour need to get over Thatcher. Redditors need to get over Thatcher.
