If only we could have seen this coming 7-10 years ago when it could have been solved (for now).
Oh, we did.
Don’t see this improving in any other government either. We have been smashed and bashed into submission that gutted GP services and a barely functioning NHS is exactly what we should expect. It’s going to take a major, seismic shift in public demand and outcry to turn the tide of neglect, and unfortunately, I don’t see that happening in the next 10-15 years unless there is a national catastrophe which highlights the threadbare nature of medical services in this country.
Given what that Tory think tank were suggesting the other day I have a suspicion that we’ll be paying for GP appointments directly quite soon. It’ll be spun as improving the service, and / or “giving back after Covid”.
Gps do get the option to work part time on over 50k a year, that seems kinda weird to me
