Well the RAF do operate A400M, and Airbus recently tested an aerial firefighting capability on it, so that’s a possibility.
Alternatively, we’re a small country with good road access to most areas, so ground based firefighting equipment is sufficient for most occasions, perhaps supported by rotary or fixed wing firefighters as required.
We shouldn’t, but climate change and our failure to act with the urgency required dictate otherwise.
Sounds like a fun job for Red Bull.
It’s a bit like air con really. Will the usage justify the cost ? No likely not. Would it be really fucking handy on those few occasions yeah it would.
I imagine over the next 10-30 years those occasions will become more frequent.
As opposed to aquatic firefighting aircraft?
An obscene amount of money when wickes sell 30 meter hose pipes for under a tenner.
Just daisy chain a few of them together and I think we’re covered.
The current government is very much the party of personal responsibility. i.e. don’t be a twat and leave your disposable BBQ lying around etc
The Tories can’t fund the NHS and will not fund this. If you want this then your best bet is an Air Ambulance style arrangement where it’s paid for via donations.
