Wagatha Christie libel trial: Rebekah Vardy says the judge ‘got it wrong’ as she responds to ruling

  1. “But as for the rest of her judgement, she got it wrong and this is something I cannot accept.”

Cannot accept it but won’t appeal it… why she ever took this to court in the first place is beyond me

  2. >Mrs Vardy’s part in disclosing information to The Sun was, it seems to me, unthinking rather than part of a considered and concerted business practice

Best section of the judgement… The judge basically says Vardy was just too thick to really know what she was doing.

  3. She brought this on herself. Not only selling her supposed friend out to the press, but then baselessly accusing her of libel and destroying evidence that proved there was no libel.

A friend of Rooney apparently tried to set up a meeting between the two of them to try to put a stop to it. But Vardy kept going.
If she’d just left it alone and kept her head down she’d have been much better off.

  4. High Court judge with many years of experience with high profile cases GOT IT WRONG says bad liar and wife of idiot footballer. Ahh ok cool, I’m back your side Becky…

  5. Right. Not that I care much, but from I read, The Rooneys set up a very efficient trap, then Vardy’s contact at The Sun pretty much sealed her fate and now a judge rules she has no cause for libel. Does she think that as long as she screams “Innocent!” her social media followers will just goose step back in line? Is this yet another case of Trumpitism?

  6. I had thought The Honourable Mrs. Justice Steyn with her 19 years at the Bar, eight years as a QC and six years experience in the judiciary at the High Court had got the judgment correct, but now the rapier-like legal mind of Rebekah Vardy has questioned it I’m not so sure.
