This school are ditching beef in favour of gammon, now I love a bit of the old gammo but binning off beef is a worry, all kids love a proper roast beef meal and now this school can’t do one due to cost.
What a state to be in, when I was a young un in the 70s we had beef twice a week in school and times were tough then.
> “Some children stopped having roast dinner, and when we asked them why, they said they really liked roast beef and Yorkshire pudding.
Serve the Yorkshire pudding with other roasts! I’ve never understood the south’s view that Yorkshire pudding can only be with beef.
Personally, I don’t care what meat I eat as long as the roast has a roast spuds, Yorkshire pudding and a good amount of gravy.
Underfunding by the government and crazy inflation is going to see many more cutbacks in schools. Not just switching from beef to gammon – I can see TAs and other support staff being made redundant as we move into winter.
Saw some beef on offer in the Supermarket yesterday, not a big peice, a bit bigger than your fist.
£15!
How does anyone afford roast beef? I haven’t eaten it this century, it’s far too much money. Roast dinner is chicken or pork these days, beef is 3 times more expensive.
