Boris Johnson allies plotting to find safe Tory seat for PM to launch comeback

  1. Is he really going to be like that one mate you have that just hangs around after parties when everyone is enjoying a vibe and makes everything awkward?

  2. I like the idea of him going somewhere which has only ever had a tory MP and then losing it to labour/lib etc

    Send him here lol

  3. Isn’t Uxbridge already a safe seat, though? Surely, moving him is just another case of rearranging the chairs on the Titanic?

  4. He could have stayed in Henley with it’s 30K+ majorities, saving us from his stint as London Mayor.

  5. I think this is ludicrous and bonkers.

If you were a recently crowned Tory leader, the last thing you’d be interested in doing is securing him a safe seat from which he could ferment disquiet in the party at your leadership, and aim for another pop at the leadership.

If he loses his seat, as looks quite likely according to the most recent polling, a Tory leader might give him a peerage, but they’re not going to move a sitting MP out so he can come back into the Commons.

I also think the MPs who remember him appointing Pincher are unlikely to be particularly nice to him once he’s without the power of patronage.

I suspect quite a few of his party colleagues fucking hate him.
